Institute for Event and Meeting Planning

Program Description
More than $75 billion is spent annually on conduction meetings, conferences, and special events. Planning a meeting, conference, or event for an organization or business (whether for profit or not) is a complex process that involves much more than facility selection, menu choices, and invitations. The Institute will offer theoretical and practical knowledge to prepare participants for all aspects of planning and implementing events, whether accomplished as part of current job responsibilities or as an entrepreneurial endeavor. The program design combines training in all aspects of event planning with information specific to event planning in Northeast Ohio. Information and insight into leveraging the latest in electronic and on-line event planning tools will also be provided.

Once you have learned to plan, manage and execute an event, you must learn to handle the complex relationships that can challenge even the most seasoned event planner. This session teaches you how to collaborate with all event stakeholders and appreciate an event from their perspective. Topics include working with vendors and clients, proposal writing, marketing, promotion, social media for an event and innovative and creative design.

How to Plan a Wedding - Course and Workshop

This course is designed for individuals looking to start or expand their careers as a Wedding Planner/Consultant. This program covers the basics of what a Wedding Planner/Consultant needs to know with topics including The Role of a Wedding Planner, Etiquette and Culture, Marketing, Contracts, Day of Services, How to Get Started in the Industry and a Five-week Wedding Planning Workshop to name a few. In the Wedding Planning Workshop you will work on a team over five weeks to develop, design and present a real-life wedding scenario. Upon completion of the program, you will receive a comprehensive Wedding Planning Binder with tabs, tools, resources and guide to planning weddings plus a Certificate of Completion from Corporate College.
